William "W.H." Herbert Parrish, Jr.

HENDERSON- Mr. William Herbert W.H. Parrish, Jr., age 75, a resident of 825 Southern Pine Street, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Vance County on November 17, 1936, he was the son of the late William Herbert Parrish, Sr. and Vernell Edwards Parrish.Mr. Parrish was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from the North Carolina Department Of Transportation.He was a member of New Life Baptist Church, formerly Second Baptist Church, where he was a teacher in the Baracca Sunday School Class, now W. H. Parrish Sunday School Class, for over 30 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at New Life Baptist Church by Rev. Don English and Rev. Sean Joplin.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Tower Parrish of the home; two sons, Thomas Scott Parrish and wife, Tericia and Jeffery Keith Parrish and wife, Joyce M. of Henderson; one daughter, Linda Parrish Faulkner and husband, Noel of Henderson; one sister, Betty P. Hedgepeth of Henderson; and one brother, Bobby Furman Parrish of Henderson; four grandchildren, Carl William Parrish, Travis Benjamin Parrish, GMSA (U.S. Navy) Joshua Keith Parrish, and Hannah Noelle Faulkner; seven nephews; and three nieces.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Scott and Tericia Parrish at 496 S. Cokesbury Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Marvin Ross, Charlie Edwards, Steve Hughes, Jake Roberson, Jerry Williams and Noel Faulkner.Serving as honorary pall bearers will be members of the W. H. Parrish Sunday School Class.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 438, Henderson, NC27536.
