KITTRELL-William Robert Bob Wortham, age 81, a resident of 2038 Walter Grissom Road, died Sunday, July 07, 2013, at his home.Born in Warren County on May 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Wortham and Mary Ellen Camron Wortham.He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by theRev. Tony Broome and the Rev. Ralph E. McGowan.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Finch Wortham of the home; two daughters, Rita W. Benac of Kittrell, and Holly W. Griffin of St. Augustine, FL; one sister, Mable W. Salerno of New Jersey; four grandchildren, Ellen Grantham, Tracey Ruffin, Crystal Stallings, and Jason Smith; and eight great grandchildren, Donovan, Tyler, Parker, Jeremiah, Alyssa, Karli, Karsyn, and J. T.He was preceded in death by seven siblings.
The family received friends Monday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Ray Ranes, Brent West, Jerry Patterson, Joe Matthews, Mike Faulkner, Kermit Mobley, William Blanton Hartness, and Steve Camm.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Instruments of Shining Hope ISH Cancer Ministry, c/o South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, 905 Americal Rd, Henderson, NC 27537.
