William Alford Wynne

HENDERSON- William Alford Wynne, 76, of Eagle Court, died Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Duke University Medical Center. Born April 21, 1948 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Lucy Parham Wynne and George Washington Wynne. William was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from the State of North Carolina where he worked in accounting. He was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Island Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Johnny Yount. William is survived by his partner of 47 years, Harold “Skeeter” Congdon of the home; two sisters, June Adcock (Howard) of Henderson and Peggy Henson of Crossnore; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Coley and Margaret Lassiter; and his brother, Charlie Wynne. The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery of Island Creek Baptist Church.
