HENDERSON-Willie Green Satterwhite, age 67, a resident of 135 Partin Street, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at his home.Born on June 5, 1944 in Vance County, he was the son of the late James Robert Satterwhite and Lizzie West Satterwhite.He was a former employee of the former Eveready Chevrolet Co. of Henderson, the former Oakes Motor Company of Oxford, and B&W Auto Repair of Henderson.He was currently employed with Hartland Land of Henderson and was of the Baptist Faith. He was President of the Green River Hunting Club in North Hampton County for over 30 years and was an avid hunter.Willie was well known for restoring classic automobiles and also loved being outdoors and doing landscaping.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David Ray Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Velvet May Satterwhite of the home; two daughters, Tammie Satterwhite Watson and Dennis Cottrell of Oxford; Sara Satterwhite Rudolph and husband, Robert Rudolph, Jr. of Middleburg; three sisters, Jean S. Parrish and Betty S. Parrish and husband, Thurston all of Henderson, and Bonnie S. Palmer and husband, Clyde of Roxboro; one brother, James Satterwhite and wife, Brenda of Kittrell; three grandchildren, Keely S. Brendon, April M. Haskins, and Robert Charles Rudolph, III.He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel S. Clark and Bertha S. Pendergrass; five brothers, Walter Satterwhite, Jabo Satterwhite, Kenneth Satterwhite, Steve Satterwhite, and Danny Satterwhite.
The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home on Partin Street.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
