Wilson Abbott, age 88, a resident of 802 Arrow Street, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at his home.Born in Warren County on March 28, 1923, he was the son of the late Cleveland Abbott and Lucy Mosley Abbott.Mr. Abbott was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.He was a retired farmer and mechanic for the Vance County Schools, and was a member of Alert Baptist Church.
Graveside services with Military Rites will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Greg Carswell.
He is survived by one son Rudy Abbott, and one daughter Christal Abbott, both of Virginia; two sisters, Mae Bailey and Mildred Hale of Henderson; and two grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Bobbitt; and two brothers, George Abbott and Thomas Abbott.
The family will receive friends at the home at 802 Arrow Street.
