Yvonne Neathery Phelps

OXFORD- Yvonne Neathery Phelps, 75, of Twin Creeks Drive, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Granville Medical Center. Born July 9, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Blanche Neathery and Brodie Neathery. She retired from Sprint after working 30 years as an accounting clerk and then worked at Purolator. Yvonne was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church and loved riding horses. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 4:00PM by Rev. Johnny Yount in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home. Yvonne is survived by her husband, Jimmy Phelps of the home; her son, Chad Watkins of Raleigh; her grandson, Ethan T. Watkins; her brother, Doug Neathery of Henderson; and her sister, Donnie Lamberth and husband, Fred of Raleigh. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Overby and Barbara Davis; and a brother, Farrell Neathery. The family will receive friends at the home, 4122 Twin Creeks Drive, Oxford, NC, 27565. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Island Creek Baptist Church, 950 Stagecoach Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
