Helen Wortham

KITTRELL- Helen Rose Finch Wortham, 91, of Walter Grissom Road, died Monday, October 11, 2021 at Wake Medical Center. Born in Vance County on October 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Dorsey Finch and Rosa Bell West Finch and was the widow of William Robert Wortham. She was retired from Sanford Milling Company where she worked as a bookkeeper for 55 years. Helen formerly attended West End Baptist Church and was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. A graveside celebration of life was held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Sunset Gardens. She is survived by two daughters, Rita W. Benac (Peter) and Holly W. Giffin, both of Kittrell; two sisters, Molly Ann F. Hundley of Boone and Ruby F. Matthews (Buddy) of Kittrell; two brothers, Henry Finch (Ann) of Kittrell and Kenneth Orr (Faye); four grandchildren, Ellen Grantham, Tracey Ruffin, Crystal Stallings and Jason Smith; and eight great grandchildren, Donovan Grantham, Tyler Grantham, Parker Grantham, Alyssa Currin, Jeremiah Currin, Karli Ruffin, Karsyn Ruffin and J.T. Ruffin. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Orr; and three brothers, Cheatham Finch, Carl Finch and Raymond Finch.
